Berlin-based DJ and producer Philippa has been immersed in house music since the late ’90s. Cutting her teeth in Auckland’s underground scene she became a key player in New Zealand, going on to headline national tours, promote her flagship event series Chicago Disco, and host Friday Drive on nationally broadcasting electronic radio station George FM for many years.
Curious about the European scene she relocated to Berlin in 2013, simultaneously pivoting into music production as her primary focus. Her breakthrough came with London labels Freerange Records and Slothboogie releasing There’s A Ghost in My Synthesizer (2022) and Rainy Nights (2023) respectively to critical acclaim.
2024 was a landmark year, with further EPs on Slothboogie, Freerange, and Lazy Days, plus gigs in London, Paris and Berlin, as well as regularly playing Berlin’s bigger clubs: Panorama Bar, Sisyphos and Heideglühen.
With a love of a house that is rich in soul, groove-laden, and built for the club, Philippa is a name to watch on the international circuit.
